16tyve

Photo: Peter Dench from the series “England Uncensored”.
During this year’s Culture Night, the photo collective 16tyve will be showing photos from all around the world.
With a mixture of commercial photographers and photojournalists, the photographers at 16tyve have chosen to host an exhibition with 14 international photographers. Among the exhibited photographers are some of the photographers who participated in this year’s photo festival including Maria Fonfara, depicting the often tabooed subject of love and sexuality amongst the elderly and Mette Frandsen with the raw black and white series “Sin City” about the almost Quentin Tarantino-like universe in Las Vegas.
Also participating in this exhibition is Peter Dench (UK) with his series “England Uncensured” – a story about a people, who aren’t known for their great cuisine nor their great sense of fashion.
The American photographer Darcy Padilla is exhibiting the series “Julie” about a girl, who’s had to overcome more obstacles in her short life, than most people would dare to imagine.
“Zona Sibirian Prison Camps” is a series presented by the Belgian photographer Carl De Keyzer. The series shows the reality De Keyzer was allowed to portray on his journey around the Sibirian prison camps, a reality strictly guarded by the military.
