In Stockholm in 2006 a number of gallery owners got together to create an art fair in the Swedish capital. The thought behind the fair was to promote Swedish and Scandinavian galleries and their representation of contemporary art. A year later Konstmässan Market opened its doors to the public for the very first time.

When Market opens tomorrow for this year’s fair, several Danish galleries will be exhibiting. Among the represented galleries is Martin Asbæk Gallery who is showing the photo exhibition “How to Hunt” by Nicolai Howalt and Trine Søndergaard, while Peter Lav Gallery has brought works by photographer Hyun-Jin Kwark. At this year’s fair you’ll also be able to meet Galleri Tom Christoffersen, Beaver Projects, Nils Stærk, Galleri Nicolai Wallner, Galleri Susanne Ottesen, V1 Gallery and Kant Gallery.

Besides Market, this weekend Stockholm will also be the host of the artist run art fair Supermarket, where you can meet KONTORprojects, Toves Galleri and Qwerty.

Both fairs open tomorrow and can be visited all weekend.
