In the exhibition Endings, the Danish photographer Nicolai Howalt examines society’s view on death anno 2011.

Through a study of the leftover ashes of the human cremation, Howalt is liberating death from the cultural, religious and social context. In the six large-sized and six smaller photos, this dust of death is transformed into abstract landscapes, which in their own unique texture create a characteristic whole.
