The key words of the 18th century were education, travelling, etiquette and pompous masquerades in the upper class. The downside to this polished facade was violence, punishment and slavery.

Five Aarhus-based photographers have interpreted this contrast-filled century and from Friday the result of their interpretations can be experienced in the exhibition “Photographic Interpretations” at Galleri Christina Lykke in Aarhus.

The five exhibited photographers are Jakob Mark, Jens Peter Engedal, Ragne Sigmund, Anne Højlund Nicolaisen and Lykke Rump.
