The danish-american photographer Jamil GS has just returned after spending 20 years in New York – a stay, which started as a vacation, but became the crucial for his photographical carrier. The series realNewYork represents during Copenhagen Photo Festival the portrayal of a metropolis of beauty, decay and quirky details. realNewYork contains photos with a special aura and authenticity from the girl wearing a N.Y. Knicks jumper in a yellow cap on her way to Manhatten, through the photos of the N.Y. skyline seen from Williamsburg to a set of more erotic photos of female models.
